Managing Principal
Brian A. Kite, AIA
Brian is a second-generation graduate of the University of Southern California, School of Architecture and a licensed architect in California since 1980. His professional affiliations include the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP), the Lambda Alpha Society, and the Los Angeles Conservancy. Additionally, Brian served on the Board of the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) where he sat on its Executive Committee from 2006-2011. With a focus on integrated project delivery, Brian provides strategic project development leadership to support projects achieving the highest level of design excellence and building performance possible. Prior to joining SRK as Managing Principal, Brian served in the same capacity for several global design firms and served as Principal-in-Charge of the recent 750 million dollar renovation of Tom Bradley International Terminal. Brian actively serves the client community through a variety of business and philanthropic organizations and is a frequent speaker on behalf of the sustainable built environment.

Gabriel Avalos, CCIDC
Gabe has over 32 years of architectural and interior design experience with a primary focus on project management and corporate project development. As a member of the SRK Architects team for over 11 years, he is responsible for overseeing design direction and management of staff, efficient project control, project organization and the coordination of scheduling, budgeting, and documentation through completion of the project. Gabe, a graduate of the School of Architecture at California Polytechnic University Pomona, is certified by the California Council for Interior Design (CCID). His most notable clients include Western Federal Credit Union, Regent Business Centers, Kaiser Permanente, CITI Smith Barney, Coamerica, HSBC, JP Morgan Chase, Merrill Lynch, and Bank of America.

Jamilah Haygood
Ms. Haygood has been associated with SRK since 2012 as a project architect, expeditor. She graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1996 and a Masters of Architecture from UCLA in 2007. A California registered architect, she specializes in expediting complex projects through multilevel local, state, and federal jurisdictions for the past eleven years. Known as a ‘permit angel’, her patient, dependable manner, and style of communication is exactly the approach necessary to sift through regulatory red tape to achieve the intended project goal. Through this process, she has gained extensive knowledge of the design and construction process leading SRK’s QA/QC process on our most complex projects. An expert working in Southern California jurisdictions, her work is roundly appreciated for efficiency and knowledge of applicable codes in processing project review and approvals across a broad spectrum of project types. She studies regulatory trends in California to keep SRK with up to date knowledge to the benefit of our clients. Jamilah co-founded Machine Inspired Art (MIA), a design and fabrication studio in 2012, and is active in the Crimson Society, a non-profit organization addressing homelessness in America and in Los Angeles.

Kelly Young
Kelly Young possesses great design skills acquired through 20 years of hospitality and corporate design experience. As a senior Interior Designer, Kelly develops all interior architectural design aspects, including space planning, presentation boards, communicating directly with the client to assure a successful outcome. Her passion for design, attention to detail, and constant endeavor to make a space perfect has earned her a reputation within client and design industry's alike.

Hugo Calderon
Hugo is a Senior Project Designer with over 15 years of professional experience. His primary focus is the design phase of projects, where he interprets the client aspirations and critical project parameters to develop meaningful and thoughtful design solutions. Hugo’s long history with the firm and his consistent application of critical thinking provide the foundation of the firm’s work. He studied architecture at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, but was originally trained as a photographer and graphic artist before dedicating his creative and exemplary design skills to the built environment.

Ying Wang
Ying has an impressive thirty plus years in organizational management, sustainability consulting, teaching, and architectural practice. An advocate by heart, she is passionate about environmental issues and interested in innovation on the energy front. She contributes numerous hours to volunteering and community leadership. Ms. Wang places importance in education and directs courses in sustainable architecture at Cal Poly Pomona and UCLA. She has led the firm in its pursuit of excellence in delivering over and above the expectations of its clients in a timely manner.

John N. Flynn
John N. Flynn is a third generation Angeleno and duel degree USC graduate with a BA in Broadcasting, Annenberg School of Communication and an MFA from the School of Cinematic Arts. John began his career at MGM/UA Studios in feature film marketing and distribution, working with domestic and international film distributors. After MGM, he co-founded Hollywood Classics, a global film licensing company handling the largest film library in the world. The company was the exclusive representative for the major film studios and independent companies, focusing a portion of its work on restoring and preserving classic film libraries. After selling the company, John continues to work in film distribution and production and also has experience in real estate marketing, architecture business development, and investment advising. He is a founding member of the USC Economic Leadership Council. John is a long-time voting member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
